Common side effects can include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, nasal congestion, flushing, and pain in the arms or legs.
Some side effects require urgent attention. Seek emergency medical care if you experience chest pain, a sudden drop in blood pressure, fainting, sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, or an erection lasting more than four hours. Do not take compounded tadalafil with nitrates or guanylate cyclase stimulators, as these combinations can cause blood pressure to drop to unsafe levels.

Important Safety Information
Important Safety Information — Compounded Tadalafil
What is compounded tadalafil?
Compounded tadalafil chews are prescription chewable preparations containing tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Tadalafil belongs to a class of medications commonly discussed in men’s sexual health and urologic care.
Compounded tadalafil is not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded medications for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are dispensed.
Who should not use compounded tadalafil?
Do not use compounded tadalafil if you take any form of nitrate medication, including nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or isosorbide mononitrate. Do not use compounded tadalafil with recreational drugs called “poppers,” such as amyl nitrite or butyl nitrite. Combining tadalafil with nitrates can cause a sudden and serious drop in blood pressure.
Do not use compounded tadalafil if you take a guanylate cyclase stimulator, such as riociguat, because the combination may also cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
Do not use compounded tadalafil if you have had a serious allergic reaction to tadalafil or any ingredient in your medication.
Cardiovascular Warnings
Ask your healthcare provider whether your heart is healthy enough for sexual activity. Sexual activity can put extra strain on the heart, especially in patients with heart disease or a history of heart attack.
Stop sexual activity and seek medical help right away if you experience chest pain, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms during sex.
Blood Pressure Warnings
Compounded tadalafil can lower blood pressure. This risk may be greater if it is used with alpha-blockers, medications for high blood pressure, or substantial amounts of alcohol.
Tell your healthcare provider if you take medications for blood pressure, prostate symptoms, heart disease, or chest pain.
Prolonged Erection
Seek emergency medical care if you have an erection lasting more than four hours. A prolonged erection, also called priapism, can cause permanent injury if not treated promptly.
Tell your healthcare provider if you have a condition that may increase the risk of prolonged erection, including sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia, Peyronie’s disease, or other anatomical deformation of the penis.
Vision and Hearing Changes
Stop using compounded tadalafil and seek medical attention right away if you experience sudden vision loss in one or both eyes.
Stop using compounded tadalafil and contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience sudden hearing decrease or hearing loss, which may occur with ringing in the ears or dizziness.
Drug Interactions
Tell your healthcare provider about all medications, supplements, and substances you use, including prescription medications, over-the-counter products, herbal products, and recreational substances.
Important interactions may include nitrates, guanylate cyclase stimulators, alpha-blockers, blood pressure medications, certain antifungal medications, certain antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors, other PDE5 inhibitors, and substantial alcohol use.
Do not combine compounded tadalafil with other erectile dysfunction medications or other PDE5 inhibitors unless specifically instructed by your healthcare provider.
Kidney or Liver Impairment
Tell your healthcare provider if you have kidney or liver problems. Tadalafil may remain in the body longer in patients with kidney or liver impairment, which may increase the risk of side effects.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects of tadalafil include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, stuffy or runny nose, and pain in the arms or legs.
Serious side effects may include a sudden drop in blood pressure, chest pain, prolonged erection, sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, and allergic reactions.
Seek Emergency Medical Care
Seek emergency medical care if you experience chest pain, fainting, severe dizziness, symptoms of stroke, sudden shortness of breath, sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or an erection lasting more than four hours.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, follow the instructions on your prescription label or contact your healthcare provider or pharmacy.
Do not take extra compounded tadalafil to make up for a missed dose. Do not change your dosing schedule without medical direction.
Overdose
In case of overdose or accidental exposure, seek medical attention immediately or contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
Storage
Follow the storage instructions provided by your pharmacy.
Unless your prescription label or pharmacy instructions state otherwise, store medication at controlled room temperature, away from excessive heat, moisture, and direct light.
Keep compounded tadalafil out of reach of children and pets.
Medication Disposal
Do not flush unused medication down the toilet or pour it into a sink or drain unless specifically instructed.
If you need to dispose of unused medication, follow local disposal guidance or ask your pharmacist for instructions.
Reporting Side Effects
Tell your healthcare provider if you experience side effects or symptoms that concern you.
You may report suspected adverse reactions or product quality concerns to the FDA through MedWatch at 1-800-FDA-1088 or www.fda.gov/medwatch.
